Peter Collins - Singer/Songwriter/Musician
Peter Collins was born in NY, NY and raised in Newark New Jersey. He attended Arts High School for the performing arts and is still pursuing school in Lynchburg, VA at this time. Peter first started singing at a young age of 7 discovered by his father who is a singer as well. He started thinking about singing seriously his senior year of high school in 2012 through the beginning of his college experience. Peter then decided to pursue music full time because of his new found passion for music. At the beginning of 2012 Peter found his original style which he then experimented with and it then became a part of him when he became self-taught in guitar. Peter is a Singer/ songwriter/ musician, and today he’s working on music to express himself, glorify God, and inspire others.

When did you know you wanted to be an artist?
in high school through the beginning of college.
How does your personal story/background influence your work?
everything i am goes into my music. basically, i try to incorporate every part of what i went through as well as learned in life in to my music. i also try to include multiple styles and cultures into the sound.
Which of your works are you most proud of?
i don’t really pick favorites but i will say the most recent plethora of music i am very proud of.
What is the hardest part about being a professional artist?
trying to include everything into one song. a lot of times theres no space.
What artists inspire you?
i find inspiration in Osmond collins, Tori Kelly, and Jonathan Mcreynolds just to name a few
What advice would you give aspiring artists who come from minority or under-represented groups?
be original, use imagination, creativity and find your thing. keep pushing, think positive. mindset is very important.
