When did you know you wanted to be an artist?
I never really knew. It was something I have done since I was able to write and I stuck to it because it became a hobby and a passion.
How does your personal story/background influence your work?
My father, being very talented at caricatures, was the one who taught me how to draw. Before I kept a sketchbook, I used the colorful copy paper at my mother’s job to draw characters I made up.
Which of your works are you most proud of?
It is a tie between my Painting of St. Basil’s Cathedral, my drawing of instagrammer Jada Doll and my painting of Frida Kahlo.
What is the hardest part about being a professional artist?
I personally struggle to capture likeness in my art and to find places to put all of my artwork!
What artists inspire you?
Artist Phobe Atkey (instagram: @phobeatkey)

Lilly Pulitzer prints (can be found on their site www.lillypulitzer.com or their instagam @lillypulitzer)
What advice would you give aspiring artists who come from minority or under-represented groups?
BE YOURSELF AND TRY YOUR BEST!!!! Don’t let anyone tell you that your art isn’t “good enough.” Art is your way of expressing yourself. Even though art can get frustrating at times, never, ever give up. The more you practice your art, the better you will get!
